French motorway radio in the overtaking lane
107.7 is the frequency that every French motorist recognises – where current road information can be heard throughout the country without the need to change channels. Unfortunately bringing all the endless traffic jam reports during the summer too…
One of the 4 transmission centres for this national information service is located in Senlis, near Paris, and which was comprehensively renovated by Thum+Mahr at the beginning of this year. The innovative structure of the interior design, together with the technically complex and exacting requirements played an important roll in this.
The only common-frequency broadcaster in Europe is extremely pleased with the result. Alexandre Laurent, Technical Director: "From the very start, the working relationship with Thum+Mahr was exceptionally professional. The project was immensely pleasurable for all who took part, and the quality of the work is beyond comparison!" Thank you, M. Laurent!
So, next time you cross France in your car, enjoy the fresh 107,7 FM – and consider whether any of the jam reports spoils your mood…
