Environmental Awareness

For a company like ours, a dependable and effective system of environmental management is elemental to the improvement of our environmental awareness. Having the right kind of organizational structure in place is just as important as deploying environmental management systems or sharing best practices worldwide, throughout the company.

By promoting best-practice sharing and an exchange of experience at an international level, we make sure that our environmental measures are consistently state-of-the-art. To keep this process on track, we hold regular events and meetings at all levels throughout the company.

As part of our training and continuing education efforts, we run workshops at which we communicate our environmental policy and present model solutions to specific problems. We also make extensive use of electronic media, including the Internet, as a means of implementing our environmental policy and delivering the latest information to all employees working in an environmental capacity.

ISO 14001

We have set ourselves the goal of aligning our environmental management system with the international ISO 14001 standard. In order to achieve that, we have mapped out an in-house approach that is equally suitable for obtaining accreditation under the European Union's environmental audit scheme.

Here at Thum + Mahr, we take an integrated, end-to-end view of environmental protection that spans the whole of our activities, including product planning, development and production, packaging and transportation, utilization, recycling and reprocessing, and environmentally compatible disposal.
