Supply and system integration of two digital On Air and production sonsoles for the locations Inverness and Stornoway.
BBC Scotland decided for the DHD digital mixing consoles after a long evaluation phase. Finally, the market analysis solidified the clear benefits of the DHD series 4200 over its competitors. The consoles are router based and so easily interconnect over a MADI real time network. The decision has been eased by the engagement of DHD's UK distributor Thum + Mahr.
Each location consists of three DHD 4200 modular consoles. All sources and destinations are available to each console over the MADI network. The consoles are equipped with the new GP-type fader module. This module offer more controls and displays than the self-op version and so helps to meet the advanced user requirements.
The user interfaces (control surfaces) are equipped with 16 fader strips each. Together with the BBC project managers Thum + Mahr layed out the software configuration and implemented it. First time for the Scottish locations a MADI network offers common access to a pool of audio resources.
Implementation: February 2003 - April 2003
